About Diane Strain
Hello! Thank you for viewing my work (my passion)! Just a tidbit of background. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Boston MA, and my interest in Art was inspired by my beautiful late mother, Elizabeth, who was an extremely talented artist! I've taken a number of courses regarding Painting and the History of Art, and have been an artist for over 40 years. The venues which I've used to sell and display my work are numerous. A member of several Art Associations, I have been involved in many juried shows and have been the Recipient of Numerous Awards. My work has been displayed in fine restaurants on the South Shore of Boston, through the Art Associations, several community art showings, and more! I have been commissioned to do work, which is displayed in a countless number of private collections throughout New England and in Utah (where I lived for 3 years; however, returned 'back home' to be close to my family and friends). I've been blessed with two wonderful sons, neither of which picked up my interest in painting! :-) Also, through my journey, I've had the pleasure of knowing many talented artists! Acrylics, Oils, Watercolor and Mixed Media are the mediums I enjoy working with. I paint on Canvas, Watercolor Stock and Wood. I was commissioned by a Publisher in the Boston Area to paint an armoire. The results were beautiful! By nature, I am a "Realist" in my work, which is what the majority of my work would be described as. During the past few years, I've experimented with 'Surrealistic' artwork, and work on the 'Contemporary" edge. A number of my pieces were completed in Utah; however the majority of my work displays Boston and it's surrounding areas and Cape Cod. I love life, I love painting! ..... Also including Photography of mine!
I truly believe that everyone has "an Artist" within them, they just haven't given in a shot! My heart and soul radiates into each painting! Thank you, again, for your interest in "my passion"........my Artwork! Find a reason to SMILE, LAUGH and Take IN as MUCH OF LIFE as you can!
FYI - Should you be interested in a particular piece of work but would like it BRIGHTER, MORE COLORFUL, BLACK & WHITE, or LARGER than shown, I'll do what I can to make that change for you! You've Gotta Love It!
